Although this project website originally went live back in 2014, it wasn't until 2020 that the real, major updates to the restoration began. Between 2020 and 2026, this landmark film underwent a meticulous, multi-year reconstruction to integrate long-lost footage and masterfully extend key narrative sequences. The following chronicle charts this six-year restoration journey, mapping out exactly how the definitive edition of the programme was assembled.
